Blue is training to be a therapy dog.

About Me
I have lived in Charlotte for more than 30 years. I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and had a long and successful career in sales and marketing working in the consumer products industry before returning to school for a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree at the University of South Carolina. I believe my work as a therapist is enhanced by my life experiences and by my work in a corporate environment.
I enjoy time with my two wonderful adult children, my dog Blue, and some really great friends. I like to hike and spend time outdoors and have recently taken up kayaking. When I am not reading articles related to work, I can lose myself in live music, a good book, or the Sunday edition of the New York Times.
My Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and provider of therapy services to individual and families. I help identify and treat a variety of issues and challenges that often make it difficult to function in daily life. Group therapy sessions are offered at certain times during the year based on interest and need.
I believe the relationship between a therapist and client should be one of cooperation and collaboration. My role is to guide and assist you in processing, understanding and coping with difficult challenges and life events. We will create plans and goals that are personal and realistic. My supportive and accepting approach will help you to gain insight and develop new skills to create the life you want for yourself. Treatment can be short-term and goal oriented or long term therapy as needed and/or requested.
I treat Individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, parenting issues, grief and loss and adjustment to life’s transitions.
I have extensive experience working in emergency and inpatient mental health settings with clients and their families. I am highly skilled in assessment which aids me in my ability to support clients with their range of needs.
Confidentiality and your right to privacy are important to me. I am HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliant. I practice in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the National Association of Social Workers.
